Boiler repairs and servicing

Do you need ann annual boiler check?
If so, find how we can help.

Why have an annual boiler service and safety check?

Every boiler manufacturer will tell you that, in order to keep your boiler running efficiently, you will need to have it serviced, cleaned and safety checked at least once a year.  Owning a boiler is much like owning a car, if you have it regularly maintained it will run smoother, use less fuel and ultimately will have a longer lifespan than one which is not maintained properly.

If you have a new boiler, still within the manufacturer’s warranty period, then annual servicing is essential to keep your boiler warranty valid.  All servicing must be carried out by a fully Gas Safe Registered and qualified engineer, who should provide you with a Gas Safety Certificate and breakdown of the work carried out.

Home Glow offers fixed rate servicing on all gas and LPG boilers, with discounted rates available for both new and existing customers.  Oil boiler servicing is also available on an hourly rate basis, please contact us for our best offers.

Spare Parts Network

As you can appreciate, a heating engineer carrying out boiler repairs would need an articulated lorry or two in order to carry every possible spare for the hundreds of different makes and models of boiler he or she might have to attend.  So aside from a van stock of generic and commonly used parts, most heating engineers and companies acquire ‘boiler specific’ spares on an ‘as required’ basis.

Home Glow is no different in that respect, but whilst some engineers/companies stick to 1 or 2 main suppliers, Home Glow sources parts from ALL of the main heating spares suppliers in Central Scotland.  This allows us to:

1.    Source the parts quicker for the customer (normally same day), and

2.    Get the best possible price for them.

For boilers where suppliers don’t keep a shelf stock of parts (some boilers are not as popular as others), having a wider selection of suppliers allows us to keep the order-in times to a minimum and get your boiler running again in the shortest possible timescale.

We can diagnose and replace faulty parts for all of the main boiler makes, including Worcester-Bosch, Baxi, Potterton, Glow-Worm, Ideal, Vokera, Alpha and Vaillant to name but a few.  We are also happy to deal with the lesser known boiler makes as well.

Need your boiler repaired in a hurry?

Home Glow operates an emergency response service for all boiler breakdown emergency repairs.

Our bank of skilled, gas safe registered central heating engineers are on hand 365 days of the year to attend, diagnose and repair any make or model of boiler – whether it simply isn’t operating as it should, or it has failed completely.

Our engineers will carry a stock of generic and common parts on their vans, and if your boiler requires a ‘model specific’ or ‘non stock’ item (as most modern boilers invariably do), we can source one from the nearest available supplier.

We have access to all of the main heating and boiler spares suppliers in Scotland, most of whom have national distribution centres, which means if an item isn’t on the shelf it can normally be sourced quicker than if we were tied to one main supplier.

We repair Worcester-Bosch Boilers, Vaillant Boilers, Baxi Boilers, Potterton Boilers, Vokera Boilers, Ideal Boilers, Glow Worm Boilers, Trianco oil boilers, Grant Oil Boilers, Worcester-Bosch Oil Boilers and any other brand not listed.

If your boiler is old and beyond economical repair, or perhaps you are considering upgrading your system, we can also provide a boiler installation service or full central heating installation service.   Please click on the links for more information.
